Cancellation Policy:

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic we have updated our refund policy. (Updated September 2021)

In-person conferences

Updated COVID-19 refund policy: For all in-person conferences that take place prior to May 2022 attendees may, for any reason, transfer 100% of any payments to a future event if you cancel at least 30 days before the event. You may also request 50% of your payments refunded as per our standard refund policy. If we are unable to run the event due to state regulations the conference will be rescheduled for a later date.

We recommend travel insurance to cover any unforeseen events outside this policy. Learn more about covid-related travel insurance here.

Standard refund policy: Outside of 60 days from the event, the attendee may choose one of the following refund options:

  • 50% cash refund paid within 30 days of the end of the event.
  • 70% credit toward a different Out of Chicago event.

Refunds within 60 days of the event:

  • 50% credit toward a future Out of Chicago event
Online conferences

Due to the nature of our online conference there are no refunds or credits given for online conference cancellation. All conference sessions are available to view after the conference.

Photowalk and workshops:

Photowalks, excursions and workshops will run rain or shine. If weather prevents the walk from going outside, the group will still meet inside. Instructors will replace the activity with a Q&A or similar activity or change the time of the event to avoid the weather.

In the event of a cancellation from an instructor, Out of Chicago will replace them with a similar instructor.

If an excursion, workshop or conference does not have enough people signed up to run the event, Out of Chicago reserves the right to cancel the event and fully refund the participants.
