I was born with a curious mind and have a tendency to let it get the best of me. Embracing this has allowed me to stand in front of some very wild and interesting people and places. Before I even picked up a camera or knew what it was, I have always experienced the world in a unique way. I later learned this was in tune with a concept in Zen Buddhism known as Shoshin, meaning, “a Beginners mind”. It involves having an attitude of openness, letting go of all preconceptions, in order to see the world as if for the very first time, with a sense of awe and wonder. This world, as I see it, from the small to the large, from the mundane to the majestic, is a wild and beautiful place. That feeling as I pass through it, that sense of awe and wonder itself, is what I capture. My goal is to share this through my images to allow others to experience the same. |
