We are super excited to welcome back Mark Denney to teach with us at the Grand Teton National Park conference in June of 2024.

Teaching Storytelling
What will attendees learn when working with you at the Out of Grand Teton conference?
“The Grand Tetons are a large and vast location to photograph, and it’s easy to come away with a collection of only grand sweeping vistas. I personally love teaching the storytelling ability of photographs, and photographing the Grand Tetons is a great location to practice this. I’ll work with attendees on how they can tell a complete story from this incredible location by capturing various subjects using wide-angle, mid-range, and telephoto lenses. We’ll also focus on the smallest of scenes with the goal of coming away with a collection of varied images that better tell the complete story of one of the most beautiful locations in the United States.” – Mark Denney.

See Beyond the Wide-Angle Lens
What photography challenges will you help attendees overcome during this conference?
“When photographing large mountain ranges, it’s easy to find yourself reaching for your wide-angle lens immediately upon arriving on location. Which is fine, but I’ll encourage the participants to take some time and connect with the area to better survey the scene to identify the qualities of the landscape they love the most. This act of surveying the scene will help you determine how you want to photograph it in order to emphasize what you love most about it.” – Mark Denney

“If you’ve been into outdoor and landscape photography for any amount of time, I’m sure you’ve run across beautiful photographs of the majestic Grand Tetons. Mark Denney is a North Carolina based outdoor and landscape photographer. His affection for travel, photography and the great outdoors is something that’s matured over time. Outside of the technical and creative aspect of photography, He enjoys teaching the storytelling ability of photographs and encouraging others to not focus solely on the the end result, but to appreciate the overall photographic experience.
