Out of Chicago Instructor
John K. Putnam is a full-time nature and landscape photographer based on Mount Desert Island, Maine, home of Acadia National Park. In 2015 he founded J.K. Putnam Photography with the mission of creating personal photographic experiences for clients by offering small-group workshops and private instructional photo tours built to fit the needs of the individual, no matter their skill level. During his time in Maine, John has amassed a comprehensive collection of images that exhibit Acadia National Park in all its splendor. With his photography, John chooses to pursue narrative over art. He wants the viewer to question how natural forces (and sometimes people) have influenced the scene in front of them. His work is less about creating and more about, "look at this cool thing". His collection can be viewed online or at his gallery in Southwest Harbor. He also, on occasion, writes bios in the third person.
