INSTRUCTORS

Meet the Instructors and Legends

Out of Yosemite brings together an extraordinary team of 14 accomplished landscape photographers for five days of hands-on instruction and field experience. You will work directly with every instructor throughout the week, rotating through field sessions and classes that explore a wide range of creative approaches, from composition and working with winter light to advanced post-processing and personal vision.

In addition, four legendary photographers anchor the experience with evening keynote presentations that share decades of insight, inspiration, and hard-earned perspective. All four of our photography Legends worked as an assistant under Ansel Adams. Throughout the week, these legends will be present at the conference, engaging with attendees during presentations, discussions, and informal gatherings.

With this depth of talent assembled in one place, the conference delivers an immersive, high-impact learning environment and a truly unforgettable Yosemite photography experience.

After each evening field session, we reconvene for a group dinner and an evening keynote presentation.

Location and Accommodation

Yosemite Valley Lodge | Yosemite Valley

Our home base for the week is Yosemite Valley Lodge, located in the very heart of Yosemite Valley and just minutes from some of the most iconic photographic locations in the world. From El Capitan and Yosemite Falls to mist-filled meadows and frozen riverbanks, many of the images you will create are only steps from your room. We will stay, learn, and gather entirely at the lodge, creating a focused and immersive experience. All meals are catered through Yosemite Valley Lodge and enjoyed together, providing time to connect, share ideas, and reflect on the day’s work.

Classes, presentations, and evening gatherings all take place onsite, allowing you to move seamlessly between learning, shooting, and rest without leaving the valley floor. With everything centered in one place, Yosemite Valley Lodge becomes more than a hotel. It becomes a shared creative base camp for five unforgettable winter days in Yosemite.

The location was out of this world, the instructors were world class and the organization was well done and the food was great.
