Architectural Photography Workshop at the Chicago Architecture Foundation
We’re teaming up with the Chicago Architecture Foundation for a mobile photography workshop this Saturday, October 1. Most of the architecture images you make can be made with a smart phone, the right apps, and the know-how to use them together. If you’re a “real” photographer and you want to create amazing images when you’re out on the town and don’t have your camera, we’ll show you everything you need to know.
Angie McMonigal and I are leading the workshop. We’ll show you the best apps, accessories, and techniques to capture amazing images on your smart phone. Angie will share her unique vision photographing architecture. She’ll show you how to apply the techniques she uses to develop your own vision.
We will hit the streets and shoot some of Chicago’s classic architecture. We’ll head to the Chicago Cultural Center and we’ll have behind-the-scenes access to the modern Spertus building! You’ll use the skills you’ve learned in the morning while Angie and I help you along the way.
Edit and share
After shooting, we’ll head back to the CAF event space to discuss editing your photos. We’ll show you the apps and techniques we use to turn an ordinary image into something special. We’ll also discuss sharing on social media and post our images from the day.
The workshop begins at 9:30am on Saturday and goes until 2:30pm. Lunch is included in the price of the workshop. To get more details and register for the event, go to the event page on the Chicago Architecture Foundation’s website.
There is a discount for Chicago Architecture Foundation members. I recommend that you sign up when you register for the workshop. You’ll want to be a member if you’re going to Open House Chicago this year!
