We have a phenomenal lineup of photographers for the first Out of Chicago Portrait Conference, April 8 and 9. Classes and workshops are filling up.

The summer conference is just about sold out. If you want to join us, go to

Our biggest, baddest, most amazingest event yet is coming this October. What city could be better than Chicago for street photography, architecture, city portraits and cityscapes? New York City? Maybe we’re crazy. Or maybe it will be the most amazing photography weekend of your life.

We’re still Out of Chicago, but this is the Out of New York Photography Conference.

People recommended that we find a hotel in Jersey, but that’s not how we do things. Our venue is in the heart of Midtown Manhattan within walking distance of the best photo locations in the city. Like the Chicago conference, you’ll choose between classes and photowalks for each session.

I’m still working on the lineup, but I think you’ll agree that it is already over-the-top awesome. These are some of the best photographers in the world. And this is your chance to hang out, learn, be inspired and shoot on the streets of New York City with them.

Do you love street photography?

Join Valerie Jardin, David Carol, Steve Simon, Marie Laigneau and James Maher learning and shooting on the street.

Do you love photographing people?

Don’t miss Lindsay Adler, Bryan Peterson, Rick Gerrity, the Phoblographer Chris Gampat, Neil Van Niekerk and Jen Hillenga.

What about architectural photography?

How about Angie McMonigal, John Kosmopolous, Jim Welninski and Gabriel Biderman?

Did I forget to mention?

Rick Sammon, Juan Pons, Tim Grey, Jim Harmer, Frederick Van Johnson, Ralph Velasco, Chris Nicholson, Mike Moats and Anne Belmont will all be there teaching their special brand of photography.

I have a list of people that I can’t quite announce yet that are going to make this even more super awesomer. Seriously. We’ve put together some great events. This is the best one yet.

Save the date for Oct. 14 and 15, 2016. Plus, we’ll have on-the-street workshops on Oct. 16. You don’t want to miss it! You may also want to book a hotel early. Get more details at the Out of New York website.
